Another Sktchy inspired portrait. Trying out my new charcoal pencil and the use of stumps (if that’s what you call them in English, still a bit confused about the translation) and brownish recycled paper. I used to draw on this kind of paper alot in art school, just love the low contrast.

I found this great app called Sktchy. This drawing was inspired by a photo uploaded by Alex Coci. You can find me there under the name Nena Dagloos. If you’d like me to use a photo of you as a reference/inspiration, tag the photo with #drawmedagloos when uploading the photo. See you there!

I STILL CAN’T BELIEVE IT! This picture just won me a 2 week trip to Peru! I never won anything in my life and now I’m leaving with my love in January for a 2 week photography trip to travel around together with the local kids! This is so awesome! I can’t believe it!

Inspired by a dear friend’s creative journey. I wanted to give her some extra motivation. We’ve both have been through alot and both know how it is to loose the ability to be creative and the frustration that comes with it. We both just got back on our feet and reconnecting with what we loved so much, finally continuing our journey.
I also felt like I made another step forward in my work process. It’s been a very, very long time since I’ve been so happy with the outcome. In the past I mainly drew with pen and/or pencil, but rarely coloured anything. Now and then I would finish a drawing on my iPad, but it still didn’t feel right. Now I’m getting more and more into watercolor, looking for the right paper and brushes and I f**ing love it!
